  2.  THE ARK.   Written by Paul Erickson and Lesley Scott.   4 episodes.
  3.             5th - 26th March 1966.

  5.  The Steel Sky, The Plague, The Return, The Bomb.

  7.  COMPANIONS:- Steven and Dodo.

  9.    The Earth has been abandoned as it is about to crash into the Sun. The
  10.  TARDIS lands aboard a huge Ark which is travelling to a new planet. On
  11.  board are examples of all the animals and plants from Earth, as well as the
  12.  human passengers and their servants, the mute Monoids.
  13.    Dodo has a cold and it spreads amongst the colonists, who have been in
  14.  space for so long they have lost their natural immunity. The Monoids are
  15.  unaffected. The Doctor and his companions are put on trial for their lives
  16.  as the colonists begin to die off but are reprieved so that the Doctor can
  17.  try to find a cure. This he does and the TARDIS leaves the Ark.
  18.    In episode three the TARDIS re-materialises aboard the Ark some 700 years
  19.  later. The Monoids have now become masters of the Ark and have developed
  20.  the power of speech whilst the humans have become slaves.
  21.    The Ark is approaching its destination, Refusis and the Monoids plan to
  22.  destroy the Ark with the humans aboard, as they no longer need them. 
  23.  The Doctor meets the invisible Refusians and with their help, forces the
  24.  Monoids and humans to live in peace.
